DeviantArt Contests (October 2020-October 2021)

Notes: I was very active on DeviantArt during the pandemic and entered a few contests/took part in challenges. I don't support Wix/DA and their ties to genocide, so I no longer post there.

I was messing about with filters and double-exposure on my phone to conjure up a spookysona and came up with this skeletal-witch version of myself. I always enjoy spookifying portraits, and this was no different! I created the piece with gouache and ink on Strathmore mixed media paper. My entry for a DeviantArt Art Challenge. I was born and raised in the UK, so Autumn makes me think of warm sweaters (jumpers to us Brits), crunchy leaves, the smell of bonfires, and snuggling up with a hot cup of tea as the nights draw in. Autumn doesn’t feel the same since I moved to California, but we can pretend it’s sweater weather like this grumpy looking pup! The drawing is based on a reference photograph I found on the Sktchy app. I created the piece with gouache, acrylic markers, and ink on Strathmore mixed media paper.
